Trước năm 1990, phần lớn đường ống cấp nước sử dụng ống gang, ống thép mã kẽm hoặc ống đồng. Thi công khó khăn và giá thành cao, nên sau năm 1990, hầu hết đường ống cấp nước này đều được thay thế bằng ống nhựa, từ HDPE, PVC cho đến PPR.

Sau khoảng thời gian hoạt động, ống nhựa PVC, PPR bộc lộ rõ yếu điếm, không chịu được sự ăn mòn của dư lượng clo trong nước cấp, không chịu được tia UV từ ánh nắng mặt trời, không bền ở nhiệt độ cao, chất lượng ống bị giảm nhanh theo thời gian, nước trong đường ống dễ sinh mùi, nhiễm khuẩn.

PEX là loại ống tốt và bền hơn PPR, nhưng bản chất cuối cùng, PEX vẫn là ống nhựa và nó luôn có những yếu điểm cố hữu của vật liệu nhựa là không bền ở nhiệt độ cao, áp suất cao, đặc biệt là sử dụng trong hệ thống nước nóng trung tâm cho công trình.

Before 1990, the majority of water supply pipelines used cast iron, galvanized steel, or copper pipes. However, the construction process was challenging and costly. Therefore, after 1990, most of these water supply pipelines were replaced with plastic pipes, including HDPE, PVC, and PPR.

After a period of operation, plastic pipes like PVC and PPR showed significant weaknesses. They couldn't withstand the corrosion from residual chlorine in the supplied water, were susceptible to UV rays from sunlight, lacked durability at high temperatures, and their quality degraded rapidly over time. Additionally, water inside these pipes tended to develop odors and bacterial contamination.

Although PEX pipes were considered better and more durable than PPR, they still had inherent weaknesses as plastic materials, such as being unsuitable for high temperatures and high pressure, especially when used in centralized hot water systems for buildings.

Stainless steel is a widely used material in the medical industry, known for its excellent corrosion resistance, heat resistance, immunity to environmental influences, and high antibacterial properties.

For this purpose, Combitek introduces PressFit stainless steel pipes and fittings from the manufacturer Isotubi Spain, available in various sizes and offering faster installation than PPR. The Inox AISI316L pipes and fittings provide a cost-effective and perfect replacement for plastic or copper materials in water supply pipelines.
